Body and Paint: how we handle it

Body and paint covers the larger jobs: accident damage, crushed or creased panels, bumper and door replacement, and full resprays. The work is done in a workshop with panel-beating equipment and a paint booth, because good paint needs a clean, controlled space and time to cure. It cannot be done properly in a car park.

The car is inspected first and you are told which panels can be repaired and which should be replaced. Colour is matched to the paint code and blended into the neighbouring panels so the repair does not show. For a single scratch or a small chip, the smaller paint repair and scratch repair services are a better fit.

Do I need a police report for body repairs?

For accident damage, yes. Workshops in the UAE ask for the police report before starting, and insurers need it for a claim. For work that does not come from an accident, such as a faded roof or a full respray, the workshop will tell you what paperwork it needs.

Will the new paint match the rest of the car?

The colour is mixed to the paint code and then adjusted by eye, because older paint fades in the sun. The painter usually blends into the neighbouring panels so there is no visible edge. Metallic and pearl colours are harder to match and take more blending.

How long does body and paint work take?

A single panel is typically a few days including preparation and curing. Accident repairs with parts to order, or a full respray, take longer. The workshop gives a time estimate after seeing the car, and it can change if hidden damage is found.

Can the work be done at my home?

No. Panel work and painting need a workshop and a paint booth to keep dust out and cure the paint. What we can do is collect the car, by driver or flatbed if it is not safe to drive, and bring it back when finished.
