Alignment only holds if the suspension underneath is sound. A worn bush or ball joint lets the wheel move under load, so the geometry drifts again as soon as you drive away. This service repairs the suspension first, then sets the alignment, which is the correct order when the car knocks, bounces or wears its tyres unevenly.

The work needs a lift and an alignment machine, so it is done in a workshop. The inspection covers shock absorbers, springs, control arms, bushes, ball joints, drop links and steering joints. You are shown the worn parts and told which are urgent and which can wait. If the suspension is healthy, a standalone wheel alignment is enough.

Can suspension work be done at my location?

No. The car has to be on a lift to check for play, and alignment needs a calibrated machine and a level surface. If the car is safe to drive, bring it in. If a spring has broken or a joint has failed, we arrange a flatbed.

Do I need alignment after suspension repairs?

Yes, after most of them. Arms, ball joints, steering joints and struts all affect the wheel angles. Skipping alignment can leave the steering wheel off-centre and wear new tyres quickly. Drop links and some bushes are exceptions, and the workshop will tell you if it applies.

How do I know if my shock absorbers are worn?

Typical signs are a car that keeps bouncing after a bump, nose dive under braking, body roll in corners, cupped tyre wear and oil on the shock body. Wear is gradual, so drivers often do not notice until the parts are compared with new ones.

Why does my car pull to one side?

Common causes are wheel alignment, uneven tyre pressure, a worn tyre, a sticking brake caliper or a worn suspension bush. The inspection separates these. Check the tyre pressures first, since that is the simplest cause and takes a minute.
