Car battery replacement
A battery change sounds simple until the wrong one arrives. Cars differ in battery size, terminal layout, hold-down style and technology, and a start-stop car fitted with a standard battery will wear it out quickly. That is why we ask for the make, model and year before we leave, and a photo of the old battery label when you can take one.
At the car, the technician tests before replacing. If the battery is only discharged and still healthy, a jump start may be all you need and we say so. If it has failed, the new one goes in, the terminals are cleaned and tightened, and the charging voltage is checked with the engine running so you know the alternator is doing its job.
Many European cars also need the new battery registered to the car so the charging system treats it correctly. We carry the tools for that and tell you before dispatch if your car needs it. The old battery leaves with us for recycling.

How long does a car battery replacement take at my location?
On most cars the fitting itself is typically 15 to 30 minutes once the technician is at the car. Batteries under a seat or in the boot, and cars that need registration, take longer. Travel time is separate and depends on your location and traffic.
How do you know which battery fits my car?
From the make, model and year, and from the label on the battery that is in the car now. The label shows size, capacity and whether it is AGM or EFB. A quick photo on WhatsApp lets us load the correct battery before we set off.
Will I lose my radio or seat settings?
On most cars a memory saver keeps power on the circuits while the battery is swapped, so settings stay. Some cars still ask for a window or clock reset afterwards, which the technician does before leaving.
What if the new battery does not fix the problem?
That is why testing comes first. If the readings point to the alternator, the starter or a wiring fault, we tell you before fitting anything and explain the next step, which may be a workshop visit or recovery.
