How Bentley cars treat their batteries in the UAE
Battery technology
The Continental GT, GTC and Flying Spur use two 12V batteries: one dedicated to starting the engine and one for the vehicle electrical systems. AGM is the correct technology on modern cars. Recent models add a 48V system for active anti-roll control, which is separate and is dealer work. The two 12V batteries age together, so both are tested and often replaced as a pair.
Fitting and registration
On the Continental family both batteries are in the boot, under the floor at either side. With flat batteries the boot may not open electrically, so the car is first powered from the designated jump connection described in the handbook. The Bentayga layout differs by year and specification, and we confirm it before dispatch. Later cars should have the new battery adapted with a diagnostic tool. Where that or trim removal goes beyond a safe roadside job, we say so and recommend a specialist workshop.

Why does a Bentley Continental GT have two batteries?
One battery is reserved for starting the engine and the other supplies the vehicle electrical systems. Splitting them means comfort features and electronics cannot drain the battery that has to crank a large engine. Both sit in the boot, and both should be tested when either one gives trouble.
Should both Bentley batteries be replaced together?
Usually, yes. The two batteries are the same age and have lived in the same heat. When one has failed, the other is rarely far behind, and an old battery beside a new one shortens the life of the new one. We test both and show you the readings.
My Bentley has been parked for a month and is dead. Does it need new batteries?
Not necessarily. A Bentley draws current while parked and a month is enough to flatten healthy batteries. We power the car, start it and test both batteries once they have some charge. If they recover and test well, a battery conditioner for storage is the fix, not replacement.
Can a Bentley battery be replaced at the roadside?
Often on Continental and Flying Spur models, where both batteries are reachable under the boot floor. It takes longer than on an ordinary car and later models need the battery adapted with a diagnostic tool. Where the job is better done in a workshop, we jump-start the car and tell you plainly.
