Car Maintenance: how we handle it

Regular maintenance is the routine work that keeps a car reliable between repairs: engine oil and filter, air and cabin filters, coolant, brake fluid, belts, brakes and tyres. Heat, dust and stop-start traffic in Dubai are hard on oil, coolant, rubber and batteries, which is why many makers list a shorter schedule for severe conditions that fits local driving.

A full service is done in the workshop, where the car can be lifted and the underside inspected. Tell us the model, year and mileage and we match the work to the service schedule, not a generic package. If you cannot bring the car in, collection and return can be arranged. Small items such as a battery test can be done at your location.

How often should a car be serviced in Dubai?

Follow the interval in your service book, by distance or time, whichever comes first. Many makers publish a shorter interval for hot, dusty or stop-start conditions, and Dubai driving usually falls under it. If the book is missing, send us the model and year and we will look up the schedule.

What is the difference between a minor and a major service?

A minor service covers oil, oil filter and a general inspection. A major service adds the items that come up less often, such as air and cabin filters, spark plugs, coolant, brake fluid or transmission fluid. Which ones are due depends on the mileage and the schedule for your car.

Can you service my car at home?

A battery test, bulb or wiper change and some basic checks can be done at your location. A full service is done in the workshop, because the car needs lifting to drain the oil properly and inspect brakes, suspension and leaks. Collection and return can be arranged.

Is the battery checked during a service?

Yes. The battery is tested for state of health and the alternator output is checked. If the result is weak you get the reading and can decide. A battery that passes is left alone, and a replacement, if you want one, comes with a warranty of up to 24 months.
