Mild-hybrid (SHVS) versions sold in some markets pair a 12V lead-acid battery with a small lithium pack inside the cabin. We replace the 12V battery, and the lithium unit is dealer work.

On the passenger cars the battery is in the engine bay with clear access, which makes this one of the quicker fits. No coding or registration is needed on the conventional cars. Tray size, terminal position and post size all have to match, because the trays are small and leave no room for a near miss. On the Carry and similar light commercials the battery position differs from the cars, so a photo helps.
