The Subaru SVX and its 12V battery

Recent Forester, XV and Outback models with Auto Start Stop are built with an enhanced start-stop battery, and the replacement has to be the same class.

The battery is under the bonnet at the front corner of the engine bay on every Subaru commonly seen here, held by a top clamp bar with two long J-bolts. Access is open and no registration tool is required. After a disconnect, the engine idle can feel uneven for the first few minutes while the ECU relearns, and the driver window one-touch function may need resetting.
